“Beat the Winter Blues — Meet, Mingle & Music”
Laura Crisci and her all star “Whoever Shows Up” band live in concert at the Brookdale PAC, Lincroft, NJ.
The Brookdale Alumni Association is excited to present “Beat the Winter Blues — Meet, Mingle & Music” a social networking event on Saturday, February 4, 2012 for alumni and friends featuring a live concert by Brookdale alumna, Laura Crisci and her “Whoever Show’s Up” All Star Band at Brookdale Performing Arts Center.There will be a pre-show reception starting at 7pm featuring complimentary light fare with a wine and beer cash bar. The concert begins at 8pm and features Laura Crisci “The Prodigal Daughter of Asbury Park” along with her band of merry men, including Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, original E Street drummer; PK Lavengood, guitarist for John Eddie; Gary Oleyar, who has played violin, mandolin, and dobro with legends like Loggins & Messina, Kenny Chesney, and Bob Seger; Arne Wendt, BonJovi keyboardist, and more. It’s a full-on show that promises to lift spirits and bring a warm breezy blast to beat the winter blues. The Presenting Sponsor is Plymouth Rock Assurance in conjunction with the Brookdale Alumni Association and WBJB 90.5 FM “the Night.”

Long-time and terrifically talented friends, Mark Sganga, Laura Crisci, and Carl Asch are coming to Franklin Lakes, NJ (Mark’s home town) on Friday, June 10th, Asbury Park, NJ (Laura’s home turf) on Saturday, June 11th, and Bensalem, PA (Carl’s stomping ground) on Sunday June 12th for three special nights of music. Come enjoy the wonderful music of these extremely talented artists in three unique, intimate settings. Those who attend all three events will receive an exclusive download from each artist!! CD’s and other merchandise will be available for purchase and photography will be permitted, but as a courtesy to the artists and fellow audience members, you may want to consider non-flash during the actual performance.

About The Artists…
Carl Asch (www.emptyhats.com) studied classical guitar at The American Institute of Guitar in NYC and has performed on streets and stages in the U.S., Paris, London, Milan (where he got arrested), Venice and Seville. He has opened for the likes of the “Cowboy Junkies”, Richie Blackmore and “Blackmore’s Night”. He has five albums with the band Empty Hats and two solo albums of love songs, ballads and classical guitar. His next solo album “Songs of the Open Road” will be released in August. It will contain songs recorded with different bands from all over the country that he has met in his many travels, including a bluegrass band from Nashville and a zydeco band from Louisiana. Both Mark Sganga and Laura Crisci are featured heavily on this album. Carl has a unique gift for personally touching each member of his audience. Mark Sganga (www.marksganga.com) epitomizes “World Music”. His finger style guitar weaves a rich tapestry of beautiful melodies & imaginative Improvisation. The 2009 winner of The Int’l Finger Style Guitar Championship, Mark has enthralled audiences from Stockholm to Kuala Lumpur. Shore native Laura Crisci (www.lauracrisci.com) released her debut CD “All Is Well” in December 2009. On July 1, 2010 she began her “All Is Well …In The World” Tour in Amsterdam, France and Italy. She plans on returning to perform throughout Europe again in 2011. Laura has an extensive history of playing with the best of the best from the Jersey Shore. Laura’s original performances have been backed by many veteran players from the shore including former Springsteen members Danny Federici, Vini Lopez, Bob Alfano, and Gary Talent, as well as Bob Burger, Bobby Bandiera and Tico Torres from BonJovi. Always fun, intelligent and thought provoking, Laura’s unique style and sound are a breath of fresh ocean air!
